Jason Lytle's Dept. of Disappearance will go down as one of my favorite albums of 2012, I think it is the best thing he has done since Grandaddy's Sumday, and now we have the second music video released from the album.
"Somewhere There's A Someone" was filmed in Lytle's home studio in Montana and directed by Mike Vanata. It is a live performance of the heart-breakingly beautiful ballad, just Lytle alone at the piano. The video does cut to the album version at the bridge for a montage of lovely scenery as the song's strings swell before cutting back to Lytle at the piano. Things come to a conclusion with a minute long piano improvisation, a simply fantastic version of a gorgeous song. Another example of why this guy is my favorite songwriter working today.
