Well this is exciting, the first taste of the new Pet Shop Boys album is here. "Invisible" first leaked last week and now we have the music video, or short film as PSB are calling it, to accompany it. Los Angeles based artist/film-maker Brian Bress made the film for the track the duo is emphasizing will not be the first single from the new album "Elysium". This is just serving as a preview of the sound of their collaboration with producer Andrew Dawson, their eleventh full length.
"Elysium" is due in September, with a U.S. release coming via Astralwerks. Their last album, 2009's "Yes", was a major disappointment for me. "Invisible" has me anxiously awaiting a return to form for the greatest synth-pop duo of their time. It's a stunningly gorgeous ballad.
