There are times when music just "moves" you. You can't explain it, you do it a disservice breaking it apart to explain the reasons. Dissecting each song is a waste of time, all you need to do is hear it and you know it is quality. Such is the case with Minnesota based band Weaver At The Loom. Yes I am late getting to this 2007 release, but better to discover it now than not at all.
I came across the song "But You Can Enjoy Life Before And After" while streaming Pandora Radio and was instantly driven to find out more about this incredible song coming from my speakers. The band's MySpace page will tell you all you need to know, as well as allow you to stream their entire EP "I Was Searching And I Found."
It is simply rare to find music of this emotional depth and maturity from such a young band. And on a debut release as well? A five track "mini-concept album" of sheer beauty from start to finish, every song stuns in its own way. From the opening "Buck Up, They're Coming" all the way through to the slowly simmering final track "Without Fear Of Their Return" which takes its time building to the grand climax that finishes the EP. I dare you to listen to this and not be moved.
